Jake Kobrick

is completing his Master's degree in U.S. history and expects to graduate in the Spring of 2004. He received a Bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Michigan in 1995 and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1998. After three and a half years as a litigation attorney with the Dechert firm in Philadelphia, he changed his career focus to academia and now plans to pursue a Ph.D. in U.S. history with a primary focus on early twentieth century urban and social history.

Thomas Wirth

earned a B.A. in History and Political Science from the State University of New York at Geneseo. He will graduate in May with an M.A. in History from Villanova. Thomas will pursue a Ph.D. in American History beginning next fall. He was awarded a Plesur Fellowship and a teaching assistantship from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a teaching assistantship from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

Chris Smith

is completing his Master's degree in English and expects to graduate in December 2004. He received his Bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in Journalism from the University of Delaware in 2002. An active concert-goer in his local independent music scene, he also enjoys writing fiction and creative non-fiction (even if he hasn't had a lot of time to do so as of late).

Dera Sipe

is completing her second year in the Philosophy Ph.D. program at Villanova. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University in 2002, with majors in Philosophy and Anthropology. Her chief areas of philosophical interest are feminism, existential phenomenology, social and political philosophy, and the history of philosophy generally.

Davina Rosen

is pursuing a Master's degree in Psychology and expects to graduate in the Spring of 2005. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Drew University in 2003. Davina is currently a Teaching Assistant for Physiological Psychology and will be investigating attentional deficits among the aged for her thesis. After Villanova, she plans on pursuing a PhD in Clinical Psychology.

Laura Sesana

a native of Bogotá, Colombia, earned her B.A. in Politics and Latin American Studies at NYU. She is a classically trained chef in French cuisine and an avid scuba diver. She is currently studying toward her Master’s degree in Spanish at Villanova, where she also teaches Introduction to Spanish.
