Notes for contributors

Concept, the interdisciplinary journal of the Graduate Division of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Villanova University, accepts submissions from Villanova graduate students in all fields of the arts and sciences. Submissions from Villanova alumni are also accepted. All submissions are reviewed by a board composed of Villanova graduate students, with final decisions made by the Editors.

The journal is published once a year at the end of the spring semester. The deadline for submissions will vary, but it is usually around February 1st. Please see the current "Call for papers" for specific details. Submissions should be sent to the Faculty Editor. However, submissions may also be addressed to: Concept, c/o Graduate School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Villanova University, Villanova PA 19085.

Submissions should observe the following format:

  • To ensure impartial review, the writer’s name should not appear on the paper itself. All submissions should be accompanied with a title page that includes the writer’s name, department, local address, e-mail address and telephone number.
  • Five (5) double-sided copies of the paper must be submitted. You will be asked to submit an electronic file of your paper if it is accepted for publication.
  • Contributions longer than 30 pages are discouraged.
  • References should follow a form accepted in the field. Citations should be included in the text when possible.
