Hartstrings visits campus to shoot children's clothing fall catalog
By Megan Armstrong '06

On Nov. 15, models, merchandisers, photographers and crew members from Hartstrings, a wholesale manufacturer of children’s clothing, visited Villanova for a photo shop for its fall catalog. Hartstrings’ nearest corporate site is located in Strafford.

Approximately 25 children and their parents came to campus, where the children modeled an assortment of fall fashions that will appear in Hartstrings’ upcoming catalog. The merchandisers came equipped with everything from basic clothing to hair accessories, and each model was outfitted in one or more ensembles. After receiving their finishing touches in hair and makeup, the models were ready to be photographed. The event’s base location was the Devon Room of the Connelly Center and from there the children and crew members traveled back and forth to various sites throughout campus, such as Mendel and Austin fields.

As the day came to a close, the crew rushed to complete the shoot before sunset. Megan Updyke, merchandiser for Hartstrings, was very pleased with the outcome of the shoot and was very appreciative of the opportunity to utilize the University’s scenic campus. Ed. Note: This event was a Communication and Public Affairs internship opportunity to learn about special events planning.
