Danko named dean of College of Commerce & Finance Dr. John R. Johannes, vice president for Academic
Affairs announced on Thursday April 7 the appointment of James M. Danko as
dean of the College of Commerce and Finance effective the fall semester of
2005. Danko currently is associate dean for Strategy and Operations
and
associate dean for Executive Education at
the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth University where he has served for
more than five years. During his tenure at Dartmouth, Danko provided strategic management and direction for key departments including the MBA program, executive education, public relations, admission, career development fiscal services information technology, and human resources. He has been credited with the development of a number of strategies that have enhanced the reputation and recognition of Tuck in the national media. Since his arrival at Tuck in 2000, the school has placed in the top three in the first two Wall Street Journal surveys of corporate recruiters; an increase from 16 to 10 in Business Week; an eight position rise to number 7 in the Financial Times; and entry into the top 10 of U.S. News & World Report. Prior to joining Tuck, Danko was associate dean and lecturer in entrepreneurship at the F. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson. Before that, he worked as executive director of the MBA program and lecturer at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Danko received his MBA from the University of Michigan and his BA from John Carroll University in Cleveland. |
