are optimistic at graduate, part-time undergraduate open house Efforts of the University’s Advertising and Marketing Committee paid off at the twice yearly graduate and part-time undergraduate Open House on Tuesday, March 15 at the Connolly Center. Dr. Robert Stokes, assistant vice president for Academic Affairs and committee chair, commented that “the Open House is a true team effort at Villanova, with all the colleges involved in planning and hosting the event.” With the assistance of Office of Communication and Public Affairs staff and interns, Howell Partners, LLC and the members of the committee, this year’s Open House attracted over 400 prospective students, an increase from the Open House held in spring 2004.
“We had new seminars including ‘Why Graduate School? Why Villanova?’ presented by Dean Gerald Long as well as campus tours and services on financial assistance to provide advice to the graduate and part-time candidates,” continued Stokes. Most importantly, the attendees were able to have one-on-one conversations with representatives from the various graduate and part-time undergraduate departments. “By having these prospective students on campus meeting faculty and staff, they can see and hear all the Villanova offers.” An open house experience is far richer than a visit to a website or a flip through an informative brochure. Overall, the Advertising and Marketing Committee organized an open house that met the needs of the attendees while also showcasing the growing number of programs offered by our University.
