in Dublin, Ireland, James Joyce (1882-1941), remains best known for his
writings detailing Irish lives and culture. His works include: Dubliners,
a book of short stories published in 1914, and the novel, A Portrait
of the Artist as a Young Man, published in 1916. However, Joyce remains
best known for his modernist masterpiece, Ulysses, which depicts
the bleak lives of the Dublin working class. Published in 1922, Ulysses
brought Joyce international fame. |
