Noteworthy
James Kirschke, English, was the featured author at the
1st Annual Author’s Banquet at Bloomsburg University on April 5th.
A Marine platoon commander in Vietnam, he has written Not Going Home Alone:
A Marine’s Story.
Dr. Ray Heitzmann, along with graduate students, Christine
Brady and Michael Hugelmeyer and Villanova alumni, John Gallagher, AS/EDU
’99 and Teresa Wojcik, GS ’99, teamed up to give two presentations
at the Annual Conference of the Middle States Council for the Social Studies
in Annapolis Maryland. Eileen Wilkinson GS ’91, current MSCSS president
and conference chair joined the other Villanovans for the second session.
Barbara Quintiliano, information literacy coordinator
at Falvey Memorial Library, received the Ethel Staley Award for achievement
in French from the department of foreign languages at West Chester University,
where she just completed her master’s in French.
Joe Lucia, University librarian and director of Falvey
Memorial Library, spoke at the Tri-State College Library Cooperative spring
meeting at Rosemont College on April 30. The title of his talk was “The
Library’s Not Here Anymore: Life in the Era of the De-centered Collection.”
