Hall collection aids soldiers in Iraq The staff members of the Kennedy Hall offices recently participated in a collection to provide supplies for troops in Iraq. Michele Breslin, of the Residence Life Office, organized the drive to benefit her brother, Lieutenant Colonel David E. Kelley of the United States Marine Corps, and his comrades. Five large boxes containing sundry necessities ranging from hand sanitizers and toilet paper to candy and books were collected from the Kennedy Hall staff. Frank Henninger of the University Shop funded the shipping and handling of the packages, and ensured their prompt delivery to the troops. Breslin would like to thank all of the participants in the drive on behalf of her brother and his fellow soldiers. She expressed the overwhelming nature of the soldiers’ gratitude. The items were sorely needed, especially in the case of the many service people with no family to send them packages. When the packages arrived in Iraq, Kelley stated that it was “like Christmas” for all the troops. |
