Graduate,
Part-Time Undergraduate and Continuing Studies Open House draws crowd
By Barbara K. Clement
Despite cool
winds and reoccurring rain showers, on Oct. 19 more than 400 individuals,
with an eye on furthering their education,
crowded
the Villanova Room of the Conference Center. “We were pleased with the
caliber of person who came to meet our faculty and attend the 21
professional seminars we offer,” said Dr. Robert Stokes, assistant vice
president for Academic Affairs and chair for the twice-annual event. “This
is an opportunity for anyone seriously considering completing a degree or
beginning a Master’s or certificate program to discover how Villanova
University can meet a person’s needs,” he continued. “We attracted a
significant number of people interested in the new Bachelor of
Interdisciplinary degree which has a more flexible core and more electives.”
Dr. Stokes was eager to thank members of the
Advertising/Marketing Committee which he chairs for their hard work
in organizing and promoting the event; he gave special recognition to Curtis
Cooke, production associate and the interns and staff from the Office of
Communication & Public Affairs, Howell Partners advertising and marketing as
well as faculty members and the deans for their enthusiastic participation.
“As awareness of the importance of continuing education is heightened,
Villanova’s reputation as a leader in graduate studies and post-master’s
programs becomes more and more apparent,” he said. “We have entered an age
when a person will never stop the education process if he wants to keep his
skills up to date. Villanova is prepared to meet this challenge with post
graduate degree programs and post- degree certificates.”
The
spring 2005 Graduate, Part-Time Undergraduate and Continuing Studies Open
House is scheduled for Tuesday, March 15 from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the
Connelly Center. |
