Graduates
celebrate completion of Paralegal Education Program By Megan Armstrong '06 On Sept. 9 at the Radnor Hotel, Villanova’s Continuing Studies department held its graduation dinner to celebrate the completion of the Paralegal Education Program by its 2003-2004 evening graduates and 2004 day graduates. The 2004 graduating class consisted of 19 day
students and 27 evening students; it is the largest in the past four years
of program history. Plaques for academic excellence, in recognition of earning all As in their courses, were awarded to Christa Bauer, Melissa Marco and Sylvia Sullivan. Plaques for academic achievement, in recognition of earning all As and one B+, were awarded to Kelli Artison, Jennifer Oliver, Teresa Roseberry and Robert Stevens. The evening began with a cocktail hour in the Terrace Room of the Radnor Hotel, where graduates socialized with their professors, families and friends over drinks and hors d’oeuvres. The guests then migrated to the dining room, where Sam DiLullo, coordinator of the Paralegal Education Program, welcomed them and congratulated the graduates on emerging from one of the best and most difficult paralegal certificate programs in the area. He also recognized the family and friends who have stood behind or beside each graduate, supporting and encouraging him or her during the rigorous weeks of education. Gary H. Bonas, director of Continuing Studies, then
offered the invocation, and promptly thereafter guests dined on a 4-course
dinner. At the conclusion of the evening, graduates Deborah Hawke Spencer and Amylynn Street spoke to their classmates about initiating an alumni association for the Paralegal Education Program. They suggested it would be an excellent way to stay in contact with their classmates as they venture on their new career paths. |
