Lectures
mark 1,650th anniversary of St. Augustine's birth This year marks 1,650th anniversary of the birth of St. Augustine of Hippo and Villanova is honoring him in a way he would have appreciated, intellectual inquiry.
On Thursday, Sept. 30, the Rev. Brian E. Daley, S.J., the Catherine F.
Huisking Professor of Theology at the University of Notre Dame, delivered
the 2004 St. Augustine Lecture.
On Wednesday, Nov. 17, the Vivian J. Lamb Lecture Series on Augustinian Thought and the Sciences will host Dr. Kenneth Miller, professor of biology, Brown University, who will lecture on “Looking for God in All the Wrong Places: Evolution and the Challenge from ‘Intelligent Design.’” The lecture will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Villanova Room. Dr. Miller is the author of Finding Darwin’s God: A Scientist’s Search for Common Ground between God and Evolution (Cliff Street Books, 1999). |
