Villanova
and the National Hispanic Institute formalize partnership On Monday, Oct. 5, Ernesto Nieto, founder and chief executive officer of the National Hispanic Institute, journeyed to Villanova to join the Rev. Edmund J. Dobbin, O.S.A., University president, in signing a formal agreement between the two institutions. The University is hosting the NHI Northeast Leadership Center in the Center for Multicultural Affairs. In his remarks, Father Dobbin spoke of Villanova’s own Latino links, most notably St. Thomas of Villanova, patron of the University. He also singled out the Augustinian Order’s own commitment to the education of Latino students. For the past 25 years, NHI has been dedicated to developing leaders in the U.S. Latino community by encouraging and mentoring high performing Latinos students to achieve in high school and higher education. |
