Villanova
honored by National Black Association Krystin Fischer '05 On May 18, Villanova was recognized with a certificate by the National Black MBA Association (MBMBAA) as a corporate partner and supporter of the Association. In addition to Villanova, other corporate partners attending were Aramark, PECO and the Marsh Corporation. The scholarship banquet and corporate partnership dinner was held at the PECO Energy building in Philadelphia. Approximately 30 people attended the dinner including students who received scholarships for their academic accomplishments. The NBMBAA, established in 1970, is an organization that promotes the creation of partnerships with academic and commercial enterprises which will result in economic gain and advancements in education within the black community. The association offers many opportunities to young people including corporate networking, executive skill development, internships and employment, community and educational activism, entrepreneurial development and scholarship. Today, more than 400 corporations are in partnership with the NBMBAA. All of these organizations are committed to the values and ideals of the association. The NBMBAA gains its strength and positive reputation through the support of the African- American community. Villanova was honored by the NBMBAA for the contributions the University has made to the organization. Villanova has hosted NBMBAA meetings on campus. The University continues to strive for the same goals as the NBMBAA and works in cooperation with the association to provide services and programs to African Americans. The certificate of recognition exemplifies Villanova’s dedication and passion to the cause. |
