Stormwater
workshop Krystin Fischer '05 On August 17, the Villanova University Urban Stormwater Partnership and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection South East Region hosted a Stormwater Update conference. Every other October, VUSP holds a larger conference to discuss various topics related to stormwater management and precaution but because the larger conference is not scheduled for this October, VUSP decided to run a smaller workshop open to professionals and students involved in managing stormwater. Engineers, architects, and planners are all encouraged to attend. This workshop will serve as a public service. A walking tour of stormwater wetlands, the bio-infiltration traffic island, the porous concrete infiltration site, a newly completed infiltration trench, and a seepage pit was included in the agenda. Research results that have been conducted at Villanova were also presented. Registration began at 8 a.m. followed by presentations by Dr. Robert G. Traver and Stephen Burgo, PE project manager.
